I bought mine in Sept 08,the person that owned it was moving back East and didn't want to take it,TV was mfg.in Spring 07.Paid $ 180, has been working fine, no problems as described here. Maybe the earlier models didn't have the built-in DTV converter for over the air signals.I connected it to cable, so I have never used the function. Only draw back it is very heavy to move,also maybe Sony worked out all the bugs in later models?....
